Stealing

Plagiarism is a form of stealing. If I need to pay my rent I don't go and steal from my neighbor to do so. I work hard to make my own money to pay my bills. Plagiarism is stealing from another writer. This is just as wrong. The original author worked hard and deserves credit for their work. I know if someone stole my work and said it was their own I would be very upset and angry. I would be upset because I put a lot of effort into my writing. Then to have someone just hit copy and paste and get the credit for it would be heart breaking to me. I would hope that if it happened it would be an accident. The person would just be trying to write their own paper but cited incorrectly or simply forgot to cite at all. We are all human and these things happen. If the person knew what they were doing and did nothing to fix it then I would be angry! I know there are people in the world that steal and know it is wrong. I am sure there are people that know plagiarism is wrong but still use other authors work as their own. Hopefully this doesn't happen to any of us!
